Overtime final matches had been played before in the Amateur, but the one between Frank Stranahan and Sam Urzetta at Minneapolis Golf Club broke the record. It lasted three extra holes before Urzetta, a former caddie from the lrondequoit Country Club, East Rochester, N.Y., defeated the Toledo golfer, 1 up, at the 39th. |
