Travis was still in contention. He took the medal for the sixth time and won a 41-hole match from Henry Wilder, 6 and 5, of Brookline. But it was Travers' era and he repeated, this time at Garden City, where Travis had won his first title.

The event was held in September and Travers defeated Max H. Behr, 8 and 7, in the final.
