Jerome D. Travers, of the Montclair (N.J.) Golf Club, was just 20 when
he scored the first of his four triumphs in the Amateur at the Euclid
Club, Cleveland, Ohio. Charles (Chick) Evans, Jr., of Edgewater Golf Club,
Chicago, made his first appearance in the Championship.
Travis won the medal, with 146, for the fifth time. The tournament was
held in July and Archibald Graham of Northern Jersey Country Club, was
the losing finalist, 6 and 5.
