Marvin (Bud) Ward of Spokane (Wash.) Country Club, won at North Shore
Country Club, Glenview, Ill., in September. He was 11 under par for 170
holes played, and in his last two matches he one-putted 29 greens. Ward
defeated Ray Billows in the final, 7 and 5. A new qualifying record was
set: 139 (70-69) by Thomas Sheehan, Jr.
